I was delighted to recently learn that this Japanese influenced restaurant had extended their opening hours in to the evening. I'm so glad they have. This makes for a nice evening spot. The restaurant is cute and quaint with a nice garden and chilled atmosphere. It is nicely decorated and comfortable and you could find yourself wanting to sit here and relax for a while.

But what to eat? Well they have a pretty big menu with a really interesting variety including things I've never even heard of before. Be adventurous! Order the soba soup for example which is a Japanese noodle soup which makes a great light lunch option. The vegan bolognase seems to be their signature dish which is a fantastic meal, you can add extra vegetables or even go large for only a slightly higher price, not that it isn't filling! They also have a vegan burger and in fact I was quite overwhelmed by all the interesting choices. The food is also organic, so as well as tasting great you also know it is very good for your health.

So many places in Chiang Mai serve the same old stuff, we love Amrita for their creative unique dishes and for the fact that none of their food is fried.

As a vegan, it was also nice not to have to ask them to hold any ingredients, I didn't see anything here that had dairy except a couple of the desserts which are clearly marked as containing dairy. The dessert range did include an abundance of vegan options as well and even included raw vegan options.

I was pleased to see that they sell alcohol, for example reasonably priced red wine which makes it a great evening spot to hang out and eat and drink with friends. It really is the place to go if you are looking for that something that is a bit different and unique from what you'll usually come across. Seek it out, you will not be disappointed.
