This restaurant is inside the large Chinese Temple that is on the ring road between the Government Offices (Mae Rim intersection) and Meechok plaza (Mae Jo intersection). You may not have any particular reason to find yourself in this area which may be why I have not seen this one discussed on other sites which I feel is a great shame. This local Thai jey restaurant is quite special compared to the other Thai stores which can sometimes be a bit grubby, as this one is very clean, bright and modern.
Thai vegetarian stores also have a tendency to put a lot of oil in their dishes as well as a lot of the white textured soy protein representing slabs of meat, neither of which I am a fan of, personally. I know that a lot of other western vegetarians aren't either. This particular restaurant does not seem to sway towards either of these particular habits. The food in general tastes very good and they also have a particularly good selection.
The only downside that I will mention here is that it isn't quite as good value as other places as the portions are not as generous and the price is not quite as cheap, but what difference does five or ten baht really make at the cheap prices that alo of these local ones sell at.
If you go a bit later in the day when they are trying to finish off everything off you will find you get a bit more value for your money. In any case, I still make the effort to come here fairly regularly for the good options, tasty, healthy food and pleasant decor. A walk around the temple grounds does not go amiss either.
As you can see here, it is very well kept.
Some stuff available to buy.
As you can see the selection is a lot better than what most usual jey shops offer.
The food is dry and less oily than usual.
The view of the store from the outside.
