In it's old location on Nimmahemin Road, Khun Churn was probably the most famous vegetarian restaurant in Chiang Mai. Since then it has moved several times. We are hoping that this new spot behind Kamtieng market will finally be a location they can sustain. Unfortunately, they don't have the same qualities as before as the menu is much more limited as are the opening hours. The buffet is open at lunchtimes where as the a la carte menu is the evening option.

The menu is all Thai food but they do have some unique dishes from the North that you won't often see in other places, such as northern style laab. They sell eggs in some dishes, the rest do appear to be vegan but we would advise checking. The portions are large and they taste as good as they always have. The buffet lunch is popular and quite good value at 179 baht.

It has a modern, clean and tasteful interior, although there is a lack of atmosphere at the moment we think this will pick up as more people learn of the new location and visit.

The meals I have had here have been satisfying but I found myself sadly reminiscing about the old branch which used to offer every single Thai dish that you could have possibly dreamed of as well as delicious fruit shakes, international beers and even a few desserts! We hope they might expand the menu to include all the wonderful options the old branches used to have but for now we are just happy that they have re-opened and are including evenings as well.
