Saras is on the long, busy and bustling Sukhumvit Road. It is set back from the main road and is a clean and modern restaurant to visit. The waiters will greet you on arrival. The presentation of the restaurant is nice even if it lacks some atmosphere.

 

This is an Indian restaurant and we found the food to be quite authentically of this country. Good portion sizes and very tasty. The dishes are pretty spicy. There is also a good selection as the menu is large and they also include Thai dishes and some Chinese dishes as well as some slightly more unusual dishes specifically from the Southern region of India.

 

Even though a lot of the food appears to be vegan it isn’t specified in the menu which we would have appreciated. Obviously, you can just ask though. There was a number of cheese dishes and some of the non-cheese dishes are served with a dash of cream so if you are a vegan and you order a main dish like a curry or soup, please tell them that you don’t eat dairy when you order.

 

Prices are quite steep even for Bangkok, but it is a fairly posh place.
