Gap’s House is an all vegan Thai food buffet. It is only open in the evening and it doesn’t really get much passing trade, the customers are mostly just the clientele from the adjoining guest house. You go up to the second floor where there are a few tables in a rustic garden style open air setting.

 

There are about 5 different curries which includes typical dishes such as green curry and masaman. There is also fruit, a few snack type starters although no salad, and only white, not brown rice, to our disappointment. As the buffet is only open for 2 hours, the food is fairly fresh and warm, but they’re all pretty standard and nothing that spectacular. You can go up as many times as you want, obviously, so it’s great value at 120 BAHT per person. Go as early as you can though as the food does start to run out fairly quickly. It’s not busy enough for them to put loads out.

 

You can also order beer and some spirits from the drinks menu. Water is free.

 

Great location right near the centre of the old city, perfect for a night out at the nearby reggae strip afterwards if that is what takes your fancy.
