The first thing to tell you about Anchan is how to find it because it really is a little tricky and on my first visit here I almost gave up. It is off of the very busy Nimmahemin Road, very close to the lane number 10. If you are coming from Suthep road, it is just after the lane where you see the 7-11 on the corner. The small turning is not actually a real lane it is just taking you to a condominium which I believe is Hill Side 3. When you take the turning you will see the sign for Anchan not far up on the left. Do not look out for the actual restaurant because you won’t see it, you have to walk up the stairs and Anchan is on the first floor.

Anyway, this restaurant is definitely worth finding. The food is very good and the menu changes weekly so you can expect some interesting things to pop up. They have beers and wine as well as the usual fruit shakes and teas. Most of the food is vegan, with the option of egg in some dishes.

The restaurant is small and there are not a lot of places to sit although this has never caused me any problem. The kitchen is right there behind the counter so you can see your food being cooked while you are sitting there which I can understand why people seem to like. It’s quite an atmospheric place to sit and it has a warm and friendly vibe.

The plates aren’t huge, but the options and the prices are both good. They take the last food order at 8.30, but they stay open a little later. They’re also not open on Sunday or Monday, but I am pleased to hear that they are now open between lunch and dinner.

They do have a selection of products available to buy, which I have heard will soon be expanding. They have just recently launched their new homemade jams, with interesting flavours such as red plum allsipce - they look delicious!
