The Suthep road area is not short of vegan and vegetarian restaurants. Most of these are Thai style ones although there are some western ones as well, such as Pun Pun inside Wat Suan Dok. When it comes to the Thai ones, some are better than others. This particular one is right next door to Nongna both of which are of the same style.
Unusually, you have to order at both of these restaurants rather than having the typical buffet style options. At this one, there is a limited amount of buffet food as well. If you want to choose something, you can pick from the menu, you’ll have to wait (about five minutes) but it is also going to be hot. So that is a major plus, choose if you are in a hurry or want a take-out, wait if you don’t. This restaurant is not as busy as its neighbour and is slightly less authentic.
Food here is reasonable, options are quite limited but some English is spoken. The disappointing thing for us is that they use eggs (but if you are vegan don’t worry, because they will ask you if you want it.) The Thai jay diet does not allow eggs, so we’re not sure why a Thai jey store will offer it. This a reason why I question its authenticity.
The décor is quite basic and stark here so you might prefer a take out. They’re not busy here and it doesn’t take long for them to prepare your meal. The food hits the spot at a very low price and longer opening hours are much appreciated.
