VEGAN CHEESE, ANYONE?

DAIRY FREE! SOY FREE! VEGAN NUT CHEESE!

If there is one thing that I have certainly never been able to find in Chiang Mai, it is vegan cheese. I only know of one other company who make a kind of spreadable vegan cream cheese, but a hard block of grate-able cheese or crumbly feta style is something that I know has been well sought after for some time. Numerous discussions have been made within the vegan and vegetarian community here about where we can find it, how we can get it, how we can make it. I haven’t found any success of it so far.

Until now! Finally, vegan 'Cheeseless' cheese is here for us! It is made my friend at WeVego, and is being sold by the amazing vegan bread company – Chiang Mai Bread! Now you can have your cheese sandwich. Now you can have your ploughmans lunch. Now you can have your Greek Salad with feta. Now you can have cheese sprinkled on your baked potato. Now you can have your cheese sauce on your pasta. All of those things you wanted to make but couldn’t – your problems are finally solved!!

These cheeses are made with mainly nuts as the main ingredient, as well as other plant based ingredients that have been specially tailored and tested to make these cheeses taste the best ever. A great deal of care and attention and time has been spent to get these cheeses just perfect. Don’t expect them to taste the same as real cheeses. Personally, I’ve weaned myself away from the taste of real cheese and actually prefer this taste. No vegan cheese is going to be like the real thing, but these will be the closest you can get. The textures match exactly. The cheddar style block is grate-able and has a deliciously spicy and tangy kick to it. The feta cheese is soft, crumbly and scrumptious. Use it the same way you would with feta. The cream cheese works very nicely as a sandwich filler or a dip. All of them can be used for cooking purposes as well.

These are being sold by Chiang Mai Bread, who also solved my problem finding vegan bread when they came along with their complete range of vegan bread products. They also sell other essential sandwich fillers and spreads such as peanut butter, hummus and a whole range of jams. I buy all my bread items from Chaing Mai Bread and I would highly recommend their entire range of products. For all of your bread needs – look no further than Chiang Mai Bread.

See the picture for prices – contact them for your vegan bread with your vegan Cheeseless cheese!

There will be more Cheesless products coming in the future, so look out for those, too!
