Care for Dogs Chiang Mai: Adoption Stories

Care for Dogs Foundation is an animal rescue shelther in Chiang Mai. Please consider supporting them, and visit their website to find out how. Here are two success stories of adopted animals from Care for Dogs.

Ms Teee's Story:

After I was abandoned I was lucky enough to be sheltered by the Care for Dogs Foundation. There I was seen by my owner, Ms Dee. When she first saw me, she thought I looked like my ancestor, Sandy. Some people say I’m so much like a fox that I must be half fox!

Ms Dee didn’t want any of the other dogs. She only wanted me. Care for Dogs were not sure if they could let me go, as I was very nervous around people who I didn’t know.

Another family already had to return me, as I just couldn’t take to them.

Ms Dee took me home and at first I wasn’t sure about her either. But she persevered with me and every day I learnt to trust her more and more.

Now, she is the one person who I look to for everything, as well as my aunties Claire and Emily and my Uncles Graeme and Ryan and I have lots of doggy cousins who I get to run around with. Ms Dee keeps me safe and takes me everywhere; I’ve been all over Thailand with her as I’m so good at traveling in the car and staying in hotels.

They only have to look at my sweet face and they say ‘OK’. If Ms Dee ever leaves Thailand, she’ll take me with her, even if it means having to go overseas. If we ever go to England, I’ll get to meet my fox ancestors!

She gave me everything and turned my life around! Love, Ms Teee.x

Rinnie's Story

I’m Miss Teee’s neighbour and friend, we get along well because we have a lot in common, we were once both lonely and uncared for, but we have both found the family of our dreams through Care for Dogs. A year ago I was given an operation to remove my kittens that sadly didn’t survive. But the worst news was yet to come, when, after the operation a tumour was found in my chest. Due to the location of the tumour, it is inoperable and the Chemo treatment unfortunately didn’t do much help either. I thought it was the end for me, no one would care for an old cat like me who is terminally sick, humans only want young and healthy felines.

But fortunately, I was proven wrong! Care for Dogs foundation put me in touch with Emily and Radree, another cat who was rescued from a town not far from Chiang Mai. Since meeting them, my life has changed dramatically. I’m doing far better than I ever could have expected, after one whole year, I’m still fighting strong! I live a stress-free, care-free, happy life. I have the freedom to go wherever I want, but I mostly choose to stay home and care for Rad and Em, my family. They are the ones that saved me, but they often tell me that I have saved them too.

A month ago, I was lucky enough to have a new friend called Mee Chok also, from Care for Dogs! She has been quite scared of the new situation because she has been through a lot of trauma, stabbed and poisoned. But I am helping her to relax as best I can, I give her hugs, kisses and cuddles. If she gets nervous, I rub her face to let her know: ‘Relax darling, everything is going to be just fine.'

Love, Rinnie-bins. xxx

Here is a picture of all of us, hanging out together.
